All of the talk and renderings for Prospect Place development that were floated around over the past year came along with its supporters and dissenters. The original plan, for large glass and steel buildings along the Dixie highway corridor, were met with opposition. The residents of the neighborhood, ripe for development, were unhappy with the way the five buildings were situated in a neighborhood dominated by historic homes. The proposed buildings would have offered million-dollar penthouses that cost over a million dollars but that did not sit right with the residents. The developers listened and have presented a much more scaled down version in a Mediterranean style that fits the neighborhood lined with historic homes.
